#5 - Singapore Botanic Gardens

Listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 2015, the Singapore Botanic Gardens is a 83 hectare garden haven for nature and outdoor lovers alike. This is a family-friendly park scattered with facilities such as restrooms, restaurants and even a MRT station for travel convenience!

Notable places in the Botanic Gardens include the ever-favourite Bandstand, the Swan Lake Gazebo, National Orchid Gardens (admission charges may apply), Sundial Gardens and the newly popular Gallop Extensions.

Expect images to be decorated with lush greenery, iconic structures, some sunshine and fun!

Facilities: MRT station (Botanic Gardens), Near to Orchard shopping district, Restaurants and foodcourts, plenty of restrooms (baby friendly)

Suitable for: Family Portraits, Couple shoots, Wedding shoots, Personal Portraits, Fitness shoots, Maternity Photography

Tips: If you are hitching a Private Hire Car/Taxi or driving, drop off or park at 'Botany Centre' (Near Tanglin gate) instead of Visitor Centre for a shorter route to Swan Lake, Sundial Gardens and Bandstand.

Bring some insect repellant, water and umbrella (in case it may rain, or a colourful one as a prop!)

#4 - Sentosa

Most people will think of sunny, vibrant beaches when they hear the name "Sentosa", however, there is much more than that!

Other than the beaches there is many places of interest (Universal Studios, S.E.A Aquarium, Imbiah Lookout area etc..) the Sentosa Boardwalk, interesting hotels and so much more! One can simply do an indoor shoot in the hotel or Resort and head out to the beach for a wonderful sunset shoot!

Suitable for: Family Portraits, Couple shoots, Wedding shoots, Personal Portraits, Maternity Photography

Tip: it is advisable to take public transport unless you are residing in one of the hotels or resorts which offer complimentary parking if you drive. There is buses, trams and even cable car to Sentosa, which makes it easy to navigate around the island.

If not you can simply walk into Sentosa from Vivocity Shopping mall and walk or cycle via the Sentosa Boardwalk, which is very scenic for many good pics!

#3 - One Fullerton/Merlion Park area

The iconic buildings along Singapore River, the beautiful skyline in the day or night and the Merlion or Marina Bay Sands and Esplanade in your photo. What can go wrong?

Countless wedding shoots had been done here before, and many will agree that this is one of the more picturesque cityscape South East Asia have to offer.

Start your shoot either from Fullerton Hotel or Marina Bay Sands and have a little stroll around the vibrant district, end your session with a wonderful meal with so many choices of restaurants around the area!

Facilities: MRT station (Bayfront), Marina Bay Sands shopping district, Restaurants and foodcourts, plenty of restrooms (baby friendly)

Suitable for: Family Portraits, Couple shoots, Wedding shoots, Personal Portraits, Fitness shoots, Maternity Photography

Tip: To shoot at One Fullerton/ Merlion Park, you can drive or take taxi/private hire vehicle to One Fullerton, or you can take MRT to Raffles Place interchange and walk about 600m to Fullerton Hotel.

To shoot from MBS, you can take MRT to Bayfront MRT and walk to Marina Bay Sands, or drop off from a taxi/private hire vehicle at Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

#2 - Gardens By the Bay

Probably one of the most recognisable destination in Singapore, the 101 hectare (with Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central combined) boast premiere horticultural landscapes with various themes, exotic collection of rare foliages and plants into one spectacular destination.

The most prominent structures are the Supertree Grove, which looks majestic at day, magnificent at night, Flower Dome (vast collection of rare plants that require cooler, dry Mediterranean climate) and the Cloud forest (Tropical cool/humid climate with a huge artificial waterfall), which are all interesting to view for nature lovers and to take pictures with!

If you would like to have lesser people in view or an alternate view of the Singapore River, you can head over to Gardens by the Bay East, where sunset shoots will work well. It is also a popular 'glamping' spot for couples, friends and families!

Facilities: MRT station (Bayfront), Restaurants and foodcourts, plenty of restrooms (baby friendly)

Tip: Please remember to wear a mask in indoor areas such as Flower Dome and Cloud Forest (face mask is MANDATORY in indoor areas) Admission charges will apply for both the conservatories.

Take MRT to Bayfront and walk through Marina Bay Sands to access to Supertree Grove via Dragonfly Bridge.

For strollers and wheelchair, it may be easier to reach Supertree Grove via Visitor Centre @ Bay South (Accessible via Private Hire vehicle or taxi)

To reach Gardens by the bay East it is advisable to take a taxi/private hire car or drive to Bay East Carpark.

#1 - Marina Barrage

This is easily our most requested destination for most of our family shoots!

It is free to enter, offers a big green rooftop lawn (think 'Teletubbies land'...if you are old enough to know what is Teletubbies) with all the popular destinations of Singapore in view, a beautiful coastline for seaside shoot (no beaches though), pet friendly, perfect for kids and great for picnics and........ the list goes on!

From family shoots, proposals, pre-weddings, graduation and maternity photography, it is a no-brainer for a fun day in the sun kind of shoot!

We'll let the images do the rest of the talking :)

Facilities: Foodcourts (not in the place itself but at Satay by the Bay nearby), Restrooms (baby friendly)

Suitable for: Family Portraits, Couple shoots, Wedding shoots, Personal Portraits, Fitness shoots, Maternity Photography

Tip: It is advisable to drive/take a taxi if you are travelling with a stroller or wheelchair, or you can take a bus from Tanjong Pagar Station: Take bus 400 in front of International Plaza (03223)

From Marina Bay Station and Downtown Station: Take bus 400 at Marina Bay Financial Centre (03391) along Marina Boulevard.

Bring your best props, kites, bubbles or a picnic basket! (If bringing helium balloons, do exercise caution as the wind may be strong enough to blow away balloons with weights)
